My buddy Sean from work sent me a copy of the movie The Running man.......that movie is still soooo awesome!! Back in the day my brother and I would watch a tape of the Running man that we recorded on tv....it had all the commercials and stuff.....but I remember watching it over and over again until we had most of the one liners memorized.

Hey everyone! whoo-weee....just came back from The Philippines! man, it is awesome there! we, (Tamara and I) were there for 3 weeks. We met up with my child hood friends, who are still there i think? (lucky bastards) but yeah, it was definitely a trip of a life time...we did sooo many things, it's hard to mention everything, but one of the most notable things were we were on a show "Wowowee" which is one of the biggest shows in the Phil. it was crazy,...went island hopping, snorkling, saw a big ass snake, some cool monkey, chocolate hills...yeah...a whole bunch of stuff. anyways, i thought i should post something....I am gonna post some sketches inspired form my trip right away, but yeah. Happy Belated CANADA DAY! right on....anyways, yesterday I went out for a good ol' canada day foosball session in Yaletown, and went all over the place. then at the end of the night I realized I lost my pack pack with my sketchbook and pencils and markers!! I i just got a sweet brush pen I am finally trying out....really cool..pick one up. anyways, luckily, the good folks at SOHO billiards found it and I just got it back...Whew....anyways. I did this quicky sketch of THOR trying to play around with the Brush Pen, then I just kinda started doodling the avengers.....well, just Iron man and Cap for now. hopefully I can get the rest of the guys in there...oh well....just messing around. have a good weekend!

It has come to my attention that alot of the old ghost stories take place with an old woman in the woods. wierd. anyways, This one is about an old lady that goes out to pick out some veggies for dinner, but finds this Big Hairy Toe, and decides to make hairy toe soup. Unfortunately the owner of the big hairy toe comes over to get it back.

Raw Head and Bloody Bones

Lately, I've been reading a bunch of short ghost stories to try to fall asleep. One in particular was a neat story called "Raw Head and Bloody Bones". It's about a witch and her razor back hog (named Raw Head), and eventually a hunter kills the razor back, and the witch casts a spell to bring her hog back to life and exact revenge on the hunter. So I thought it would be neat to do a little illustration for each story beat in this ghost story. anyways, I this is the first. More soon. hopefully.

Happy New Year Everybody! well it was a whirl wind christmas holiday, and was super busy as always seeing family and old freinds back in alberta. This year in particular was really cool. I got a surprise call from my former grade 7 teacher, Mr.Mastel, (who is now the principal), to come back to my junior high school, Sacred Heart, to talk as a special guest about animation. Initially I thought I was going to just talk to an art class, but i later found out that I was going to talk in front of the whole school! Yikes! I was really nervous at first, but eventually the kids got into it and all was well. After a short speech, we showed "Eyesore" my old and silly student film from Vancouver Film School, then a bit of Q&A. After that I got a chance to go from class-to-class to talk a bit about the animation industry and my experiences after Sacred Heart, and also to draw a really quick sketch for each class which was really fun! It was such a great time going back to my old school to and see all of my old teachers again, and to see how much Sacred Heart has evolved since I was there since they are putting a bit more emphasis on the arts. It's Great! I just want to say Thanks to Mr.Mastel and all the staff at Sacred Heart for having me back!

Well It's that time of year again, becoming poor with crazy shopping madness, visiting the family in Edmonton, getting stuffed with meals and bringing on the new year and I'm turning 26 right away....wow... where has the time gone? Speaking of shopping madness, I can't believe a employee at Walmart actually got killed by trampling during a massive Walmart sale a few weeks back! Unbelievable! poor guy just started working and was just tryin to save up for Christmas.... and I also heard that two people shot each other at a Toy's R Us ovver a toy! What is the world coming to? Anyways, I hope people actually realize Christmas isn't about all the toys and stuff, so I thought I could spread a little Christmas cheer so I made a make shift Christmas card for every one, thats supposed to be Tamara and I on the sleigh....so yeah- I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!

I remember the good ol' days when me and my cousin Ariel would be crazy into Wrestling, and we would wrestle everyday before school and after school. We even created our own tag team finishing move which slightly resembled the finishing move from the tag team "Demolition". Oh those were the days....so yeah, I was just wondering what I wanted to be for Halloween this year, and looked around and saw my "Nacho Libre" mask....then this drawing/painting came out. I'm still on the fence as to what i'm gonna be it's a toss up for Nacho or Lando Calrissian, we'll see....anways, I picked up Tamara's costume today from Value Village, that place is the best for costumes!

Doodle of the day. Tamara and I went to Steveston today, it is a small fishing village south of Richmond. Anyone in the Vancouver area should check it out if they haven't yet, it's pretty cool. It has great seafood restuarants and CHEAP seafood to buy too! We got 12lbs of shrimp for $10-CrAzY !! it was ridiculous amount of shrimp for cheap. So yeah, check it out! Anyways, just wanted to do a doodle of a lady and baby, but it eneded turning into this, soo yep. good times.

The Gang went to Tofino for one last Surfing trip for the summer and to wrap up a great season with our soccer team Laser Thunder.....0-12!!! (i think) but we were undeafeated in the Spirit points .....135. These are Drinking points you get after the games...and became the Spirit point champions!!! booyah! Thanks to MIGZ and Thursday nights!! those were seriously CrAzY. anyways, We also had another AWESOME trip to Tofino, and it was a great turn out, Nothing went wrong.....unbelievebly, since everything goes wrong when i say that...but yeah it was awesome. But, we did get a bunch of warnings from this guy who is now known as "The No-Fun Police". I don't remember much, but all I heard him say is.."There's too many people here...Too Many People.....You'd Better RECTIFY this right now!!" but yeah, everyone said he looked like a night club bouncer dropout, and was really cheezy. oh well, anyways, I started doodling and it ended up becoming a tribute to the end of the summer and the Tofino Trip....oh yeah....ALL THE CHARACTERS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ANYONE FROM THE TRIP....just to let you know....they were just doodles at first and at the last minute I turned this into the infamous RECTIFY moment...so yeah.....good times.

I wish!! this would be the greatest animated series ever, or feature film......hmmmm. I can only dream. I am a super big fan of Horror Slasher films, especially the 80's. I am such a 80's kid. Anyways, I remember watching a bunch of horror films at my cousins house, like Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm street, Hellraiser....and MONSTER SQUAD!!! We sharpened our popsicle sticks to be wooden stakes, and our club house where 2 pine trees with 1 plank board nailed between them....oh and a dirt pile. I later made it my life long goal to scare the crap out of all of my other little cousins thereafter, and I still doo try to scare Tamara by putting my Leatherface mask in the dryer and asking here to do the laundry. mooohahahahahaahaaaa....ha ha aha...aha.....ahem*.....anyways, I still hold JASON VORHEES as my favorite slasher, except for what they did with him in Jason X...oh well, I did cartoon version of Jason after I heard they were gonna do a remake with Michael Bay as the producer, sort of like they did with Texas Chainsaw, we'll see, but I guess it is set to come out on Friday the 13th Feb. 2009!

Just watched Pineapple Express yesterday. Soooooooo funny, definitely check it out if you can. I think it's my 2nd favorite movie of the summer (next to DARK KNIGHT!!!), and definitely one of the best comedies i've seen in a while. The whole theatre was laughing the whole time. but yeah, I just did this doodle from what i remember in the movie. James Franco is really hilarious in this movie. so yeah check it out.

Heyo...beeen a loong time since I posted something, been super busy with work, work work, going on trips, people visiting...(hey JACKIE!) and getting engaged...CraZy...so I thought I should post some doodles I did up at work, these are doodles of my buddies in the Layout at Big Bad Boo Studios. We are currently working on a 2-D show called Mixed Nuts. It's a really fun show to work on, and the crew is awesome, most of whom I when to VFS with. Good times...anyways, if you have ever worked with me, or have ever sat near me in a work or school situation, you'll probably know that I always ask you the "WHAT WOULD DO IF...?" questions, it sometimes gets out of hand but it is fun to find out how wacky and crazy you're co-workers are.

Worst dayz ever!!!!

OK..... I think we've (Tamara and I ) have had the worst couple of days in our lives. It all started yesterday,...actually a couple weeks ago my mom calls and tells me that she will be stopping over in Vancouver on her way to Texas, and wanted Tamara and I to take her and my Auntie to Seattle on the 12th (Feb). No problem...on the 11the, MONDAY we-Tamara, Ashley, Keiran and Myself decided to go to Mount Seymour for some afternoon snowboarding. Since it was free for girls every Monday, we thought hey, why not, and Tamara want to test out her new board I got for her for her birthday. But in order for girls to go for free, we have to "Committed Boards" to get a Free Voucher for the 2 girls. We get out there, and it is misting slightly out, not too bad, we think "It's probably snowing up on the mountain, thats what it said on the weather conditions. So we head out to Committed boards, but we can't find it, we get a little lost in north Van..but no biggy, we just lost 30 mins of snowboarding time. We'll take the loss, and just buy the full price tickets. What ever.

$20 + $20= 40

Next, we finally get up the windie hill, and get uyp on the slopes, it turns out, that the snow is Super slushy and shitty, so Boarding was ridicoulous, I saw at least 3 people hurt on the mountain. Then it starts to get really wet,...2 runs in, we are all SOAKED....shitty, but it's still ok. Tamara is trying to learn how to carve and she ends up doing a back summersault on her neck...OUCH! next run, the she get HIT IN THE FACE by the chair lift that was going 100mph at us. yeesh! then we called it a day and went to eat. a burger and a couple beer later we are all sore, but fine and dandy.

at this point it am freaking out! I swear I put them in my right zipper pocket, but I find my pocket now unzipped! SH!#*T! Kay...now everyone is in a panic as the mountain is closing down, we ask guest services but no one there to helpp, gone, we get a guy (who was cranky) to call a tow truck. He ends up taking Tamara and Ashley to the A&W at the bottom of the hill, while me and Keiran spend the next few hours by ourselves in the POURING RAIN soaked and looking for these keys. Tow truck finally gets there, and costs me $107.

$60 + 107 =167

we cram into this 2 seater truck w/ 2 BIG guys. at first I thought these guys would be asses..but they ended up being really nice and funny. So they dropped off the car at the bottom of the mountain, and we called a cab. Meanwhile, Tamara and Ashley are dropped off at the Mohawk, Tamara ends up leaving her brand new goggles and snowmits in that dudes car. Then they tried to stay in the mohawk but go kicked out. We all meet up finally around 1:30 am at the bottom of the hill, and caught a cab home to Joyce station.

$167 + 20= $187

Wait a minute. I have to pick up my mom 10:30 am, and head straight to Seattle. ok, if we plan this right, the car dealer ship can make NEW KEYS sayz the tow truck guys no problem for $80. they open at 7:30 am. we can make it!

so we call them, they tell us we have to tow the car from Seymour mountain to the car dealer ship by BrentWood mall (30 mins). Tamara calls the, they are on their way there. We'll take the sky train from Joyce,($3.50 x 2) if we get off broadway, switch on commercial, it will only take us 3 more stops. We'll make it there on time.

$187 + 7 = $194

We get to Broadway, and theres an announcement "POLICE EMERGENCY-we will not make any stops at BROADWAY!" SH!#T!! at this point we are both almost in tears. We have to go back all the way around, and pretty much see all of lovely vancouver, it'll take us another 40 mins. yay. Tamara calls the tow truckers and sees where the car is so far.. .."oh we just dropped it off, it's ther waiting for you!"

We get to the dealership 9:30 am (we can make it), hoping it was on it's way to a new set of keys. We get there, "hi is the our car ready yet?'

"What Car? we didn't get your car..."

F*$%^K!!!!

We call the tow truckers, apparently they dropped it off at the north shore dealer ship. They are now on their way to the right dealer ship. We are not gonna make it. Hour later, finally, it gets there. But they can't start work on it until they get tamara's dad's Drivers Licence faxed to them, since it's under his name. SH@#T!! wait a little longer.

OK now to explain the drawings above, those are the HANG MAN games we played while waiting for the car, it's all explanatory. And the guys just some dude, that was eating a sandwich there. yay.

Now they get to work on the car, Tamara has a 2001 Grand Prix, and they have some sort of computer chip in it, so they have to make 2 special keys for it, that ring in about $120 per key and another $120 for labour. sooo $360. wow. But one of the guys ended up being super nice, and cut us some slack. and only charged us $300. Thanks!

which comes to a grand total of

194 + 300 = 494...$500!

WOW. that all I have to say about that. ....but it's not over yet. I still have to drop my mom off at Seattle.

(oh by the way, if you didn't figure out what Tamara's Hang man sayz..it's "YOU ARE A DOUCHE BAG" .....AND I DID THE "SHOOT ME") GOOD TIMES.

Yeah, I remember my buddy Jesse asking me to post the illustrations I did for a commercial. So it was supposed to be illustrations in the most magical book ever that inspires this little girl to go to the north pole. and she ends up building a rocket ship. Heyo! thought I should throw out stuff I've been goofing around with today. I am totally trying to force myself to draw more everyday, and try to make progress...ahhhh. anyways, here's a rough of my "Barbarian guy" I was doodling today, then the cleaned up version. I think I need a couple more touches on the guy, like a little rope design on the stick he is carrying. oh well, I was gonna be an axe before, but I switched it to a big ass rock. I don't know.....anyways, I will try to color it before I go to the bar tonight! ....... i hope...weeeeeeeeeee!

I'd thought I would post some old designs I did back when I was in Edmonton. The "Huck" design was for a made up Snowboarding company, years later I found out that there is NOW a snowboarding magazine called huck.....wierd. That always happens to me, everytime I think of a new idea or invention....it's been made, or I'm beaten to the punch! and the other logo is for a made up golf course called "Grouse Point". oh the memories of graphic design....good times.

Here's something really cool. It's the commercial I worked on for JC Penney, called "The Aviator". It was a super awesome to get to do some illustrations for the commercial. My buddy Fai got a hand in it too! It's really neat how much effort gets put into these commercials! it's crAzY but fun!

Hey more cool news, Eyesore is going to play in The International Animation Festival – TINDIRINDIS in Lithuania. I really wanted to go, but it falls on the same days when Tamara and I go to Florida for Halloween, which we already booked tickets for. Crappy deal, oh well, hopefully next time. Lithuania looks like a really cool place, and plus I've never been to Europe before. Anyways, Halloween Horror nights should be fun, it has fun houses of Freddy, Jason and Leatherface this year.

Yeah, this is the most ghetto linetester ever......well maybe there are more ghetto ones, but this is pretty ghetto. I have an iMac, aand it comes with a built in iSight camera in it. When I installed Flipbook, it won't read any other camera other than the iSight. yeah, so I had to pull Macguyver and jimmy-rig a linetester out of a couple wire coat hangers, soft metal, and putty. Wow, thats pretty ghetto.....and when I'm shooting a scene, i can't see the screen......gooood times.

Whelp, here's the good ol' student film that I made at VFS. It's about a Big guy taking a shower and then he slips and falls and his eye pops out, chaos ensues...weeeeeeee.....anyways, it was really hard, but super fun doing this. I can't wait to do another...someday, when I figure out how to set up a home made line tester. Zabadoo.

okay, whelp Today was a really fun day,..Tamara, Mike, Marco and myself went on a very emjoyable stroll up the grouse grind...that was allotta fun! I definately recommend it to everybody, and we had a good time on the top of the mountain too. Then me and Tamara watched UFC at good ol' Jaguars Pub. Some guy was getting too into the fights and started to throw chairs..it was messed, now are home and I can't sleep...thought I should doodle soo yeah...have a good one.
